Key Highlights

The design of Icon of the Seas adheres to the philosophy of dividing the space into “neighborhoods” to manage traffic flow and create diverse micro-atmospheres, preventing passengers from becoming bored and reducing the feeling of crowding on a large ship. The ship comprises eight main neighborhoods, five of which are new neighborhoods launching for the first time on Icon of the Seas.

2.1 Thrill Island: Land of Adrenaline (Thrill Island – New)

Located on the top deck, this area is a thrill-seeker's paradise and represents one of the ship's most significant structural engineering challenges. 1

• Category 6 Waterpark: This is the largest waterpark at sea, featuring six world-record-breaking slides.

• Frightening Bolt: The tallest waterslide in the sea.
• Pressure Drop: The first open free-fall waterslide in the sea, with a 66-degree slope.
• Storm Chasers: The first mat-racing duo slide in the sea.
• Installing a large water park on a ship's deck requires consideration of the "free surface effect" of the water in pools and slides, which can affect the ship's stability. Therefore, engineers must design the load-bearing structure and watertight barriers carefully.

• Crown's Edge: This daredevil activity combines the Skywalk, rope climbing, and thrilling rides. Players walk out of the ship at a height of 154 feet above sea level before the floor opens up, allowing them to dangle down – a truly mentally challenging experience. 9
• Adrenaline Peak: The newly designed artificial rock climbing wall is more complex and challenging than previous models, with patterns that harmonize with the deserted island theme of Thrill Island.

2.2 Chill Island: The Science of Relaxation (Chill Island – New)

While Thrill Island focuses on excitement, Chill Island, spread across three decks, emphasizes relaxation with a variety of swimming pools. 7

• Royal Bay Pool: The largest swimming pool ever built on a cruise ship, with a massive volume of water and ample space around the pool for sunbathing.
• Swim & Tonic: Royal Caribbean's first swim-up bar caters to consumer behavior seeking maximum convenience, eliminating the need to get out of the water to order drinks.
• Cloud 17: This adults-only swimming pool is decorated in a chic and tranquil style.
• Cove Pool: An infinity edge swimming pool that offers a view at eye level with the sea.

2.3 Surfside: A modern family-friendly neighborhood (Surfside – New)

Surfside was a major game changer in terms of marketing strategy. This area was designed specifically for "young families" (families with young and older children), addressing the previous pain points of parents having to separate to care for their children or having to walk long distances between the children's zone and restaurants. 7

• Integration: Surfside combines a children's water park (Splashaway Bay & Baby Bay), a carousel, and family-friendly restaurants all in one place.
• Water's Edge: The parents' pool, located behind the children's water park, allows parents to relax in their own pool while still having a clear view of their children playing in the water. This is a design that deeply understands user behavior.
• Restaurants in this zone: There are both. Surfside Eatery (Buffet), Pier 7 (All-day brunch), and The Lemon Post (A family-friendly bar with menus for both children and adults.) 11

2.4 AquaDome: A Wonder Above the Ship (AquaDome – New)

Located at the very top of the ship's bow, AquaDome is a 363-ton glass and steel structure that is lifted and placed on top of the ship. 1

• Day & Night Transformation: During the day, this area is a tranquil 220-degree ocean-view lounge, but at night it transforms into the state-of-the-art AquaTheater, featuring a 55-foot-tall waterfall (tallest waterfall at sea), robotic arms, and holographic projection systems.
• The Overlook: The relaxation area features "Overlook Pods," private, bird's nest-like seating suspended in the air, offering unique perspectives.

2.5 The Hideaway: Sky Beach Club (The Hideaway – New)

Tucked away at the aft of the ship, on deck 15, this area replicates the atmosphere of a world-class beach club. 7

• Suspended Infinity Pool: A key highlight is the first suspended infinity pool at sea, extending out to the stern of the ship and offering unobstructed horizon views.
• Atmosphere: The focus is on music from DJs and cocktails, making it suitable for late teens and young adults.

2.6 Suite Neighborhood: Exclusive Luxury (Suite Neighborhood)

This area has been expanded to its largest size ever, spanning multiple floors to create a “Ship within a Ship” experience for premium customers. 12

• The Grove: A large private sun deck with its own swimming pool and jacuzzi, as well as its own Al Fresco restaurant.
• Coastal Kitchen: A two-story restaurant serving fusion cuisine, with floor-to-ceiling glass walls offering views of the AquaDome and the sea.

2.7 Royal Promenade: The brightly lit main street (Royal Promenade)

The iconic Royal Caribbean ship's central aisle has been renovated on Icon of the Seas. 7

It's surrounded by upscale restaurants and luxury brands, and features a sophisticated watering and vegetation management system to ensure the trees thrive amidst the salty sea air.

Main Dining Rooms: Even with the unified menu, the ship retains the decor and atmosphere of its four original restaurants: The Grande (Luxury and classic), Chic (Contemporary), Silk (Decorated in an elaborate Asian style), and American Icon Grill (American road trip style) The menu rotates daily, covering international, Asian, and healthy options, and is served for breakfast, lunch (on cruise days), and dinner.
2. Windjammer Marketplace: This large international buffet restaurant on the 14th floor features an exceptionally diverse range of food stations, particularly Asian cuisine (noodles, stir-fried noodles, various curries) to cater to customers in the region. It also boasts stunning panoramic ocean views.
3. Sorrento's Pizza: This New York-style pizza place bakes fresh pizzas all day and offers free service until late, making it a popular spot for late-night meals.
4. Café Promenade: This 24-hour cafe serves coffee (standard grade), tea, sandwiches, croissants, cookies, and mini pizzas.
5. SeaPlex Dog House: This food truck-style hot dog stand located in the SeaPlex zone serves a variety of gourmet sausages with various toppings.
6. Fish & Ships℠: (A special highlight of Ovation) This poolside restaurant, which replaced the former Kung Fu Panda Noodle Shop, serves signature dishes such as... Fish & Chips (Crispy battered and fried fish served with potatoes) Authentic English style, Fried calamari. Note: Most main menu items are served free, but some specialty items, such as the Lobster Roll, may have an additional charge. 
7. Solarium Bistro: The semi-outdoor dining room at the bow of the ship focuses on healthy cuisine and usually offers complimentary breakfast and lunch buffets (dinner may require reservations or may incur charges on some routes).
8. Coastal Kitchen: A Mediterranean-California fusion restaurant with a private atmosphere. This offer is exclusively for guests staying in Suites (Junior Suite and above) and Pinnacle Club members only.

These restaurants offer an elevated dining experience in terms of ingredients, service, and theme (cover charge or à la carte).

• Jamie's Italian by Jamie Oliver: This Italian restaurant by celebrity chef Jamie Oliver is renowned for its daily homemade pasta and wood-fired servings of cold cuts (planks), using high-quality ingredients in a warm and inviting atmosphere.
• Chops Grille℠: Royal Caribbean's signature classic American steakhouse serves premium dry-aged steaks and fresh seafood such as Maine lobster.
• Wonderland Imaginative Cuisine: Experience molecular gastronomy that will transport you into a world of imagination. • Izumi: This popular Japanese restaurant is divided into two zones:
